I am completely new to the world of photography, but am fascinated

by the art and complexity of succesfully capturing moments in the

world around me. I would appreciate any suggestions and/or tips!!

you certainly have a good eye and great sense of timing. the only suggestion i would make and this is just for fun, would be to crop the bottom a little more and maybe give the photo a more panoramic feel. really. this is a very nice sunset.

very nice photo. I would definetly opt to not go panorama because you would loose the nicely reflected and lit foam at the bottom edge of the frame. Now that is not to say its something that shouldnt be experiemented with.

btw, how is the 400D treating you? is the dust reduction all that it is supposed to be?
