vincent laurent 0 Posted September 24, 2006 A really nice picture. Do you used a orange filter to contrast sky ? Island seems to be a really great contry for photographs. Best regards. Link to comment
bgw 0 Posted September 24, 2006 fantastic location and you have more than done it justice from the look of other images in your portfolio. I might have been tempted to crop off a wee bit of the sky, but on the other hand, did you leave it to balance the two other major areas of tone and subject? Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Very effective image - interesting tight framing of the foreground "Z" shape of the winding river, which leads into the frame and the glacier near the center. One note - the very dark areas such as the face of the black peak to the left of the glacier and the darkest areas on the mountains to the righ of the glacier appear to be essentially pure black, at least on my monitor. While I like the contrasts between light (snow and clouds) and dark here, these areas seem like they may be a bit darker than necessary, having no detail when viewed on my monitor. Nice image. eirik_holm_yvik 0 Posted September 25, 2006 Thanks for the comments. I decided to leave the sky as it is both because of the balance, but also because like those small clouds on the top. Link to comment
celluloid3119 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Fantastically composed. Has the same cold, evocative atmosphere of Sven Nykvist's cinematography (god rest his soul.) Link to comment
mario2 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Another great image Eirik, this high contrast between the sky and the snow on the mountains is fantastic, the perspective is stunning;about the frame, perhaps has too much balance, interesting z shape of the river.Lacks some detail about left mountain without snow is a little bit dark...Nice work!
