I applaud your boyfriend for being so brave. Its rare to see male nudes. I liked the rock but the point of view makes him look like he was put there as a sacrifice and beheaded...was that your objective? I do like the pebbles/grass lines.

alicia, thanks for commenting. i didn't intend an objective statement -- and certainly not one so gruesome. we had simply been doing classic poses on the rock base and evolved to this. i tend to prefer classic nudes to be faceless. d.

There is a place near Conway, Arkansas called Toad Suck.

 

According to local folklore, the name originated in the days when the only means of getting across the river was a ferry. Apparently, traffic was often slow in the dog days of Summer and the ferrymen would drink hard cider while waiting for patrons. Bargemen who worked the river would frequently join them with their own "refreshments."

 

As the hot Arkansas summer days wore on, the river workers would begin to strip off their clothes. They also became increasingly intoxicated. Passers by would comment that the naked, drunken men sleeping on the rocks looked like "sucked toads" - thus, the place came to be called "Toad Suck."

 

I never understood what the hell that meant.
