That's a beautiful shot and i have the feeling that you have tried to make a minimalist pic.

So I would have chosen a longer exposure in order to dissipate the clouds.

Last detail : you have forgotten the shadow of the stone on the right... ;-)

 

Apart from these critics I like your picture, its soothing !

Returning from a recent visit to Avebury, I would have been overjoyed if I'd managed to capture an image as good as this. The composition is excellent in that it depicts the openess of the local landscape and the isolation of the

formation. Good detail.

I love the composition. I think your post-processing is a bit off though. It looks over-sharpened, and I think you've boosted the contrast too much - though that could be the sharpening too. But other than that... love it :) I wish I could get to see these things some day!

I don't feel I need to see the other shadow, and I suspect that would have introduced some unwanted element into the scene, thrown off the compositon and possibly destroyed the magical 3. I love the detail in the front stone. It leads the imagination to see all sorts of images. I managed to get to Avebury once a few years ago and it rained the whole time I was there. You've done well to capture a mood of solitude which, unfortunately, has been lost by the 'touristification' of this location.
