Jacqueline: You have a great perspective and vision for detail, lines, pattern and design. Compared to your other images posted, you have a little more going on here. As for the square, did you shoot medium format or is this a crop from a vertical or horizontal image? Not sure if it is my monitor, but, I personally would like to see a little more detail in the back vegetation rather than have it be one large dark black area. Otherwise, this black-and-white image is well done and interesting to look at.

Hi Stephan~ Thank you kindly for your detailed comment! This is cropped from a horizontal image. The section I eliminated was the other half of the dune which sloped down...but it was extremely washed out by the sun. I guess I failed to add to my tech page that this is converted to black and white from a color image. I am working on improving my conversion techniques....the dune grass in the rear does look a bit dark on my monitor too, at this image size.....Thanks again for taking the time to look through my work......

Hello Doug~ Thank you, too, for comments! Always appreciated!

The photo seems to be more about "light effects" than wind effects to me - but who is going to quibble about a title? :-)

The diagonal curves (of the grass, the top of the dune, the light on the center of the dune, the shadow of the cental bunch of plant, and the ripples in the sand all seem to work together well. The cloud at the upper left also balances the diagonals nicely.

Normally I'd agree about the desirability of getting some detail in the grass, but I'm not so sure it is necessary here. There is enough detail elsewhere in the image that letting the grass go almost completely black may make for a stronger image.

Nice work.

Awwww... Often when I need to calm down I use your photos as yet another tool to get me in the zone. You have so many photos that ooze with inner calmness and quietude. I love your portfolio. Now this particular photo is just great. The light and shadow play are out of this world and very detailed. I like this a lot. Take care. Eddie.

Hi David~ Nice to see you. Thanks so much...I appreciate your comment.

Hello Dan~ How good of you to leave your impressions. Interestingly, I titled this wind effects because of the deep lines left in the sand. The wind was howling this day....the top of the dune, which was cropped off, had grasses on it. As the wind blew the sand, it caused these unique lines down the dune. The grasses had "protected" the sand beneath it but not to the sides of it. Pretty interesting design! And, of course..the strong light of the day helped to intensify the design! My newer post, I titled...light effects...thinking of your comment :)

Eddie~ Then, I do believe our relationship is reciprocal...whenever I need a little boost of photographic confidence...you always seem to leave the most uplifting remarks. And for that...thank you!

Hello David O~ Thank you kindly for your remarks. I was very pleased with the final composition of this. I am forever amazed at the ever changing landscape, here at the Shore.......a light breeze or harsh wind gives the sand the illusion of being an artists palette....and with the stroke of an invisible hand...a new artistic design is made. But all for just a moment...then...its gone......Glad you enjoyed it too!

Horizontal line of the clouds, vertical line of the grass and the curves from the dune make this picture very interesting to look at. All of that is lovely B&W tones. Best regards.
