Much thanks for such a technically-considered shot. The eye-catching contrasts is phenomenal.ROT is well thought of, but it could have been more eye-boggling if the horizon hadn't been messed up by the small pole in the distance. It's recommended that photographers look around before depressing the shutter button.

Arash, the pole in the distance is the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. I can see how you might think its just a pole since its so small. Thanks for your comment.

This is one of your best. The grass in the foreground to catch the eyes of the onlooker. Then, Cape Hatteras lighthouse just visible in the middleground but acting as anchor for the image and, finally, that powerful cloudy sky as background.

A lesson in opportunity when releasing the shutter and a lesson in composition.

Oh dear, now it really looks bad. Not photo but coming weather I mean. Just compared sky with another your IR shots another day... Scene and execution are looking just great. Somehow everything here looks so balanced! I respect. No ratings, a s l a

Whew, Awesome scene, Sondra......I'm beginning to think you have a special deal going with Mother Nature, seems like you are nearly always some where at the right time......You know people used to say the same kind of thing about Ansel Adams.......I'm so very glad you have chose to share all these great shots on here......Jim

Never thought I'd see the Cape Hatteras lighthouse in IR but here it is. This photo looks absolutely great. The IR really brings those clouds out and makes the lighthouse stand out in the distance. Cheers, J

OOOooohhh!! Even better than the other recent shot of Hatteras. You really had a wonderful opportunity & took full advantage. The IR is gorgeous here, as you get a full range of tones in the sky. 7/7 indeed!
