Guest Guest Posted October 12, 2006 Roy - you are so right a good foreground can make an ordinary landscape into an extraordinary one. In this case the foreground and the middle distance are excellently captured with crisp clear detail and good tonal range. But what happened to the sky? The edges to the mountains do not look natural; did you have to heavily process the sky to get detail in it? The bit between the left and centre mountain is particularly pixelated. This is a pity because otherwise this would have been a very good picture indeed. Link to comment

sawicki 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Very good work. The wood in the front adds so much here. Great tones and contrasts. Thank you for sharing. Link to comment
dtunacik 0 Posted October 16, 2006 First off thank you for your critique on my photo, 'Road Less Traveled'. I really like your photo 'Milford Sound' although I don't know where that is, it looks very interesting and makes me want to see it in person. There are 3 very clear layers to your photo. The log/rocks, the water, and the mountains. Excellent job on focusing. What aperature/shutter speed did you use? Link to comment
