The juxtaposition of two different cultures is interesting Karl.( even the more western one is blured, and more colorfull...;-)) I like the imaginative diagonal from LR covered face to UL red cloth. I wish though that the man with white hat was better seen, a bit more to the R. but I think that you could not help it. Interesting sight of far away location.

Thank you Andrea, Pnina and Mapi for your comments. I agree, this photo opens up a lot of diverse interpretations and thoughts. The more I think about it, the more I love it. It was shot today in a very crowded market in the old city of Peshawar. Interesting also is the most diverse rating I got for it. Karl

This is a wonderful capture--as noted above, the juxtaposition of the two cultures is profound. The color, composition and depth work beautifully. It's certainly one of the best "real world" images I've seen in some time. 7/7

Thanks Bill for your encouraging comment. This photo reflects very well the different realities in which we live in this part of the world. The role of women in this society is very well symbolized. The photo was rather shot accidentally, as I wanted to shoot a photo from the models but there were too many people in front of them in this crowded market and I am not allowed to shoot photos from women. So I was just about giving up when I saw this man coming. And here they are ;-) Karl

The best shots are often the unplanned, spontaneous captures. The man (and woman ?, LR) in confrontation with the other/ modern world is meaningful, great capture !

Karl,

Another outstanding travel image! This one really tells a story. I love the spontaneous quality of this one, like we are quickly peeking out between the textiles to a view of another world.
