dant 0 Posted March 2, 2002 The effect is nice. The idea is good. And the photo could've been very good. But it bothers me the big air bubble(?) from the bottom. How did you get this effect? Link to comment
derris 0 Posted March 2, 2002 actully the flower is upside down Dan...and thats why the bubble seems to br going down isnsteat of going up....I don't know but I took this bubble intentionly...more comments and rating will help me to judge it more preciely....thanks Link to comment
susan_larry 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I love this shot. It reminds me of a series of photos I've seen that the photographer froze flowers in water and used creative colored lighting to add the *wow* factor. I wish I can remember who the photographer was.... Link to comment
ali emre aksu 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Derris, nice picture. And the idea was excellent. All I'm gonna mention is that you need more contrast. Link to comment
patrick cook 0 Posted March 11, 2002 Another unusual, imaginative shot. Took me a while to work out whether the bubbles were air or water drops! Link to comment
derris 0 Posted March 11, 2002 I want to mention that my scanner is very bad and unfortunatly I didn't do any post work with this snap.... the photo was taken through a glass sheet and the flower is upside down and with the help of a small pipe the air bubbles were being made....amocng all the shots I took...I like this one very much.....please rate and put comments....all the rating and comments will be appeiated....thanks Link to comment
ladawna 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Disagree about more contrast. The softness helps make the photo. Link to comment
billmagee 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I am having a tough time figuring just which is your best snap, this is for sure one of them. Ive never pulled anything like this off and imagine it to be very difficult. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
koska 0 Posted March 13, 2002 I like it very much... The lack of contrast makes it look like some beautiful painting. Excellent! Link to comment
kkwan 0 Posted March 19, 2002 Perfectly composed, nice, even lighting, and way cool effect. What more need I say? I love the bubbles. Link to comment
randall_shafer 0 Posted March 31, 2002 Beautiful effect and execution. Sometimes less is more though--- the bubbles distract from the overall effect. I think a small, even tiny stream of bubbles would be much more subtle and give the viewer a pleasant surprise. They will notice something "different" about the photo, and upon looking at it more, they will see the bubbles. Images are so common these days that we tend to glance at them move on, but adding some surrealism and mystery with a surprise draws the viewer to look at the image longer and remember it. joel_faitsch 0 Posted April 8, 2002 Everything is just the way it should be here- low contrast and all. Think of S. Dali and that moment of surprised pleased confusion he aims for. You have it here, and I like it. this, by the way is very difficult to do deliberately. Link to comment
juergen_kollmorgen 0 Posted June 12, 2002 very creative work, Derris. I like the soft colors here and interesting effect caused by the water which is not immediately obvious when viewed from a distance. Link to comment
r 0 Posted November 16, 2004 I've done the bubbles before, I put 2 hours into the effort. Ended up with some mediocre bubble shots and a bad ear-ache. Never thought to actually plant something in that wavy surface down there. So, "WELL DONE!", I say! Link to comment
