First true attempt at landscape photography - I wish it were less

windy.

With such a saturated film as Velvia and such lush natural colors from that part of the country, I bet you none were used. Or if they were, they weren't needed!

nice light but foreground tree blends into background too much and makes the left hand side hard to see and comprehend.

On one hand you have your critical focus, probably automatic, on the tree in the foreground so the cliffs are a bit soft. You can manuelly focus when a near object seemingly off to the side reaches the middle focus box; or, you can use a tripod and make a timed exposure with the smallest possible aperture ( and slow long time).

 

On the other hand, I love the way the cliffs look painted and the soft quality actually delights me.

 

I hope I made a sharp point for those fixated on sharpness first always!!!!
