jmoody 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Any thoughts, ratings, comments, or suggestions? Kinda limited on post production since there really was no color to begin with. Composition ok? Thanks to any and all in advance Link to comment
esau_b. 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Hey Jeff. Nice shot. Is this the music hall in downtown L.A.? I like the b/w vesion of this. My only suggestion would be to crop the bottom left corner, where that first line starts, and also the right side of the picture at the point where the shadow beginb/ends to have a smoother transistion for the eye to travel up the picture. But i like it. Nice job. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Thanks Esau... Yup, L.A. concert hall (been there? really a fantastic spot to spend an hour or two) but not black and white. Just an overcast day with lots of flat dull white clouds (till about an hour later when the sun peaked through). I think you're right on the crops (especially the lower left). I'm still learning to master my viewfinder vs. real amount captured. That last little line escaped me. Good to hear from you... I'll be visiting your portfolio again soon as I remember I greatly liked your work Link to comment
barthurk 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Another great shot. The eye flows along different lines depending on where you start. I'm not sure how I feel about the two specks on the right portion. It looks like they are on the structure itself, which is probably why you left them, rather than clone them. I believe in leaving natural flaws in the photo, but are these maybe too distracting from the flow of the metal? Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted August 18, 2006 Brian, This site is unbelievable (in a good way). Had no idea about the specs until now that you mention them, but you're 100% right... they are clear as day (I do most of my editing at home and my screen is dirtier than you'd believe (a 2 and a 3.5 year old are the guilty parties) so I probably just figured they were part of the screen-muck). Now that I look at them though, I'm gonna guess that they're on my sensor and not on the building. Clone tool here I come :-) Thanks for the sharp eyes! Saludos a ti y gracias Reencarnacion. La mayoria del piropo va al arquitecto de todas formas pero me alegro que te haya gustado Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted August 18, 2006 That's no excuse Tom. Let me see some "7's" :-) Thanks for stopping by! Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted August 19, 2006 I love these! This one is great with the shadow. Well done. Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Jeff, this may be my fav. The lighting and texture appear silky and soft. Neat trick for a metal structure. I'm saving my 3's for Tom. Link to comment

pjduncan 0 Posted December 24, 2006 I've done some shots of the Disney Hall... it can be tricky. This is a really good shot... simple but captivating. I agree with the crop on the bottom, but I'd have to say I like your original right edge. Link to comment
