pjmeade 12 Posted August 18, 2006 What I liked about this was the splay of shadows from the trees and fence and the only colour being from the sunlight grass. What do you think? Link to comment
kbridgman 0 Posted August 18, 2006 I think that most of the photo is very good...I really don't care too much for the table and chairs in the upper right...artist preference I suppose...The play of light and shadows and th spacing of the trees is really very nicely done. Was wondering if you took more than one shot of this at different angles? The bare ground in the lower right is somewhat uneventfull...while the play of light around the fence and amongst the tree trunks carry's the image. Sometimes I like playing with images like this that show certain qualities about it...I took the liberty to do some cropping to tighten the overall composition...Just another way of looking at a pretty good photo. pjmeade 12 Posted August 18, 2006 Thanks for looking. Keith, I took half a dozen shots of this dawn, what I was thinking about was the light starting to come in on the grey and featureless space and to fill it with colour. So for me, the dead areas are an integral part of the shot. I like your crop though. Here is another shot that has been cropped a little. Very best wishes and thanks for your contribution. Guest Guest Posted August 20, 2006 I much prefer your reworked version Peter - that's not to say the original is without its virtues. I find this view very relaxing. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted August 20, 2006 Peter, I prefer your original as it has those areas of grass to the right where the light is just touching the tips of the leaves. Don't mind the table and chairs which are not obtrusive to my eye and were there. I like how as you look at it you see more detail such as the light shining through the leaves. Atmospheric!
