doug bowles 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Great, crisp shot! I know how hard these are to get. I'm really surprised how little noise you've picked up for a relatively high ISO setting. Link to comment
watchboximages 0 Posted August 16, 2006 I can't beleive Johnny O is still racing superbikes. A 1D is a magic camera. Link to comment
namurray 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Doug, thanks very much for commenting. I was shooting mostly at ISO200 but it got a bit cloudy so I upped it to ISO320. There seems to be no sign of any noise in the original RAW file - very sharp and clear. Seems to have lost a bit of sharpness in the conversion and compression but I have just got the Canon 1D and associated software and am still trying to get used to both. Kind regards, Neil. Graeme, thanks very much for looking and commenting. To be truthful, I know very little about the bikes and had trouble identifying from this photo which event John Orchard was riding in. He competed as No89 in both the Superbikes/Supersport and the Thunderbikes. I wouldn't know one bike from the other. It's spectacular and a lot of fun though. The 1D MKIIN is fantastic. I also took a lot of photos at the same meet with my 20D, using the same lenses. The end result is that I will be selling my 20D; the results from the 1D under identical conditions were just so much better. Kind regards, Neil Link to comment
