jannis 0 Posted July 26, 2006 This beautiful scenery was captured shortly after the sunrise at Monemvassia/Greece A gradual grey filter was used to enhance the dramatic sky Link to comment
jannis 0 Posted July 26, 2006 I find the ratings somehow "amazing":)Looking at the very low ratings I am wondering what I could have done better. Is the light not right? Or even the composition? The motif is boring?I really do not mind about how people rate because there is nothing to win here but at leat I hoped to read a few comments from the experts who give very low rates (i.e. <4) (by the way not only to my pictures)... bartimeus1 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Hello Yiannis! My rating rises from the impressions I get from this image. I like the composition and the overalll feeling - they are just fine. I lower my rating from extremely good points, because of the rather dark area on the lower left corner and because this seems a bit underexposed on my monitor. I am quite sure, that this underexposure is a deliberate effect, but it annoys a little. On the other hand, it also gives personality to this image. So, rather good points, but not a total winner. :-) Link to comment
jannis 0 Posted July 29, 2006 Thank you very much for your comment! I know myself that the picture is not a winner, I was just wondering about the "3" ratings which seem to be a "standard rating" for some people. Even "1" or "2" appear sometimes under photos (not only my photos) and this I can mostly not explain at all. Ratings are not important to me but when I give a very low rating then I am trying to explain the reason. If I cannot explain a low rating or if I have no time to do so, then I do not give any ratings. But not all people are the same Thanks once again! regards Yannis Link to comment
