johnz 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Overlooking an area of stagnent water I noticed the scum appeared like branches of a tree - the leaves on the water just add to illusion. Comments of any type appreciated. Link to comment

richard_cooper5 0 Posted July 17, 2006 I like this a lot, especially if the print has the luminous quality I see on my screen. Might consider a different title, though. This is not pond scum. It's the photographic equivalent of a semi-abstract painting. Setting viewers to thinking about where the image opriginated detracts from the effect, and it devalues what you accomplished -- reduces it to mere cleverness. It's what you made, not what you made it from that counts. Link to comment

johnz 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Eduardo, Robert, Richard, Rabinder & Lavida - thank you for your kind words and comments. It often amazes me how something so mondane can turn into a work of art. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted July 17, 2006 This is absolutely beautiful! The delicate nature of the strands of foam seem to reach up into the heavens, instead of the water. Well seen!! However, I agree to change the name to something more poetic !-) Link to comment
johnz 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Thank you for your comments -- I agree the name should change - elegance and scum don't seem to go together. Link to comment
