I think this would be much better if you would have had the whole chair visable and had everything squared up. Squared camera angle, and had the model perfectly squared.

I like the thought that you have had a go at something different, but have you considered B/w this would in my opinion make this image a lot better. I have done a crop and conversion to B/W with some other additions for you to make our mind up. Colour does nothing for this image at all!

Hope you like the other vesion

Kind regards

Rob, it's good to see that you are able to detect the subjective aspect of my photograh. It was explicitly intentional. My intent is for you , the veiwer to make this decision on your own accord. Noone says you have to like it, but it seemed to provoke enough attention and/or emotion for you to give critique to it. If you are attempting to flame me you only lowering your own self image. If you are really attempting to "help" Then you may not be fully seeing the artistic side. I hope you aren't only worried if its a guy or a gal sitting there. That would make you pretty creepy. Your very own statement that suggesting that I am trying something new, tells me you actually have done a search for other photographs I've displayed around the net. To provoke this much interest, I should probably feel honored ;)

I like the artistic side of photography and that means in all aspects. I agree that you either like r do not like an image, I do not like this image as it is, and it has a certain degree of interest to me, but only in the B/W version.

My intensions are never to intimidate people but only to assist others. Read my Bio, it's me; I like to put myself out to help others. If I see an image that stands out I will applause their endeavours to achieve what they have done; if I see an image in my opinion that can be possibly improved by merely changing certain aspects of it I will offer that opinion. It is up to that person to either accept or to ignore!

Kind regards

Rob

The problem, Rob, is not only have you converted it to B/W, you totally changed it tonally to paint a different picture all together... How would you like for someone to take one of your photos and paint a mustache on one of the faces, then claim it looks better to them? It would probably piss you right off. It is also childish. Of course, in nudes this desecration carries a more profound impact. But how can I ever expect you to understand this when you yourself have not attempted anything of the type? How does this help anyone but to please one self? Not attempting to intimidate? Perhaps you don't know yourself.

I asked for critque of whats displayed. I didn't ask for feedback in what I could or should have done differently. What do or don't you like about my photograph as it is? Why doesn't the color work for you? Why doesn't the lighting work for you? What emotions does it provoke in you? This is what critique is all about. Come on Rob, it's appearent you've been here and in photography long enough to understand these concepts.

Perhaps it displeases you because you believe there's a guy sitting there. I made no attempt to either beautify or uglify man or woman, The human form is more than enough to intreige interest. If it pulls in subjectivity as I intended along with the human form, Then I've done something right.

However, Your critique is cut short only to state you don't like the photograph, with no explainations. Nice Critique and your defensive stance only made you look worse ;)

I have had many images of my own changed it does not bother me in the slightest.

Unfortunately Steve it would appear that you have got the wrong end of the stick. I am nothing of what you have assumed me to be!

I could not care less if it was a bloke or a female on that chair. Why would you say that?

What don?t I like about it!

The dirty feet

The orange chair

The bland lighting

Put this into mono and crop it to attain a more pleasing image. Well to me that is.

You may if you wish ask me to remove the image that you obviously do not like, if so just say the word.

May I ask, why do you feel aggressive towards me? What is it that I have said that has provoked this assumption I'm trying to intimidate you?

Once again,

Kind regards

Rob :)

"with some other additions for you to make our mind up". Perhaps this is misleading? would you like to clean this up? After reading this, then looking at the photograph. What was I supposed to think? It's like taking a photograph of Marilyn Monroe and converting her to look like Ronald Mcdonald! Sure, it may look good, and maybe even better.. I actually think your conversion is interesting. But you introduced a very dark gothic appeal to it, almost a monster. - Very conflicting to what I was aiming towards. It does absolutely nothing to help me. The most it has done is shown me your editing skills and your own vision. Mixed with the fact you didn't like the photograph, the appearence is you are desecrating my photography, or attempting to intimidate me.

You still have not been specific in your critique of this photograph other than you dont like the chair, don't like the color, don't like the lighting, don't like the feet. Did any of this help me? Not really. You are not saying why you don't like them, or what I could do to make it better photographicly. At this point I don't really care what you think anyway.

Ah, but you care and want to help... tell that sap story to someone else.

Please do not respond.
