I would love to get some comments on this, hate it, love it, or like it.

I really like it. I would have made sure the entire suitcase was in the frame, though. It makes you wonder where little brother went and when he'll return?

I like because it makes you think. Is it someone searching for a loved one, someone made to leave, or what is forgotten and may have been left behind. That's my thoughts...

I could stare at this for hours wondering and thinking.

 

Isnt that what art is all about?

I like the composition, but a couple of thing bother me. It appears a bit dark overall to my eye, which has caused some of the important details in the suitcase and in the shoes to be lost. Also, the right side appears to be lower than the left side, giving the image a sloping feeling. And I have to agree with the comment about cutting off the bottom of the suitcase - you could have a little more space below the suitcase without endangering the composition and it might be stonger. One last thing, there is a dust spot on the right-hand rail near the top of the image that keeps drawing my eye.

 

Having said that - and please do not take my comments too harshly - I still like the image. It has a strong feeling of mystery and you have done a great job with controling the depth of field. Nice work.

These days, an unattended suitcase or bag on a railroad track would probably make people very nervous.

I like this very much, but would like it a little lighter and maybe with the whole suitcase in the frame (which may have given you trouble with this angle and I'm assuming wanting the full tracks in the frame). Have you thought about doing the same photo, same angle, but maybe with someone standing there holding the suitcase? Especially if it is your little brother or other young person, I think it would be a great composition. I like the photo as it is, though. Nice work!
