Not your typical kid portrait but it works. Childhood war wouunds are a part of life just like the smiles. Good job for having the presence of mind to capture this moment.

This is a wonderful portrait. It seems to say "life is hard sometimes." This has the same kind of intensity one sees in the eyes of firefighters or extreme athletes who, while exhausted and injured, have survived their trial. As has been said, great presence of mind to grab the moment. Initially I thought a great dof would have been nice but now I'm not so sure. This works nicely.

i think the d.o.f. adds to this shot. i don't think it would be as effective with an increased d.o.f. with the closer eye tearing up, and the other a tear running, this is ausome d.o.f. for this shot. well done. poor little guy.....

This is a remarkable picture. Yet the emotion is obvious, the effect is much stronger then many photos, so I must stop and comment and say what a wonderful picture this is. Cheers ;)
