I really need an opinion on this. I was not sure if I should post it

or not. What do you think? Any honest opinion, even negative is very

welcome. I need to see others' reactions.

This has a wonderful eerieness and surreal feel...I like it very much..The person is off to the side, small within a greater environment which is more intriguing than the usual...I like the grain,texture...

I like the way it is done.

I am assuming that the graininess is intentional. Even if it isn't, it adds to the over all effect.

Everything in the photograph seems to flow towards the top and the man is on the top edge ..

The picture seems to convey to me something about not taking the beaten path, and not knowing the future ... probably something to do with the fact that there is little space ahead of the man and that is hazy; we can only see the part he has already walked ... the past

I really like this composition ... though your interpretation or the reasons for which you took the photograph may have been very different.

I live by a beach and spend a lot of my time there. Capturing it on camera is much more difficult than people imagine. There are easy postcard shots, which I have in abundance, but they say nothing or little except the beach looks like this. The feeling is always absent. I have thought hard how to capture the real essence of the beach but so far have not succeeded. You, on the other hand, have created a photograph which shows me the mood and the feel of the sand, the sea. I can feel this, in my mind's eye I sense this place far more than with those postcard shots. The postcard shots are Mcdonalds. This is a feast in a 5 star resto. A wonderful work of art of which you should be very proud. When I look at this image I am there.

Thanks to everybody. It is the second time that I have this surprising response. The first was with another pic: Man on the cliff It's here if you are curious:

http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4278804

It was almost the same case. I took that 2 pics almost a year ago in different places. I always liked them because of their sense of futility as a contrast to their serious presentation and because they made me dream, since i took them. I found two difficult steps, first is to give them the representation I liked. Believe it or not I have spend more time in these two pics that in many supossedly ellaborated images of my portfolio, Just the decision color-bw took me a lot of time and I am not yet sure :-). The second was if it is just me who find this interesting or there is anyone else :-). I tend to find many images interesting, even when I comment some pics that I liked from my collegues here, I am not sure if they perceive how much I like them, pics that some times do not have many comments or bad rates. Sometimes It is amazing how people can get a composition that makes you "feel" more than "understand".

I am glad that you liked it and you encourage me to post some more in this direction. Thanks again.

PD: Just in case someone doubts it, grain, burn, everything in this image is intentional and carefully thought. Then if you do not like it it's just my bad taste :-)

Thank you for you comment on my photo. It's nice to see you name on my work again. I like the shot. It's interesting and very mysterious, remembers me on a film, but don't know the name:). DDD

Compositionally stronger than Couple & Beach but with different atmospheric conditions. In this the tracks look like a natural border, and the grain treatment provides the impression of an alien terrain. Here I sense tension, as if the crossing of the lines in the near future will usher in an alternative inner reality.
