focus mankind 0 Posted June 12, 2006 slow walk... width is as original photo, while height was cropped (about 2/5 on top and 1/5 on bottom) to get the panorama format. Do you think the format works? Any feedback to that and the photo is appreciated. Tnx in advance. focus Link to comment
a b wilkinson 0 Posted June 12, 2006 I like the panoramic format. We don't need to see the top of the bushes. And she is just off-centered enough. Lovely photo. Link to comment
ivan_scipiades 0 Posted June 12, 2006 For me not quite convincing. I miss the space especially above the little girls head, but also beneeth the legs. What was your purpose? If you wanted to show wandering of a little man in a big misterious word (judging by the proverb written in the photo) than it might be worth showing that big misterious garden. The difference of sizes (little man - big garden) perhaps could be better shown in the vertical dimension, eventually from a higher point of view - IMO. Or have I totally misunderstood? Link to comment
focus mankind 0 Posted June 12, 2006 From that point of view (small girl in a big world) - you're right. But it's more about the details childrens eye catch, while adults walk by not recognizing details (photographers excluded).Deborah looks at the little flower which is in focus - it's more about "The journey is the reward". umapathy 0 Posted June 12, 2006 I too agree ivan's comment. a little bit of breathing space above her head might have made it better. but if u had cropped it since there was something distracting, then it is fine. This is just that there was a discussion, and i just joined it. otherwise i loved the picture in general. the mood it sets, and with the caption, it goes very well. good job Link to comment
focus mankind 0 Posted June 12, 2006 @Ivan & Umapathi Constructive comments help to improve my photos. There's nothing distracting why I've chosen that specific crop. May I was sticking to 10:20 due to my printer. I'll check how it looks like with different crops and will repost it. This are the comments I'm here for. Link to comment

ivan_scipiades 0 Posted June 13, 2006 I only noticed the flower after you mentioned it. (I was looking the small version) and it gave really a new meaning to the picture. Sorry. I am looking forward the eventual reposts. Regards Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted June 13, 2006 Wonderful. I like everything about this, color, light, the little girls hands and slight turn of her head. Great. Link to comment
lingeringlight 0 Posted June 14, 2006 To me if you extend the picture up, it loses the meaning because where she is going becomes a part of the energy of the photo. This crop is perfect in that it forces the viewer to stop looking ahead as well. As is we must stay in the immediacy of the girls focus. Quite brilliant in my mind. Well done. Take care, Link to comment
