wavegirl 0 Posted June 16, 2002 Phenomenal. I love bare trees -- you did this one true justice. I especially like you use of the sepia tone, as mentioned by others. Also, it's an interesting crop that drinks up the frame in an eye-catching way. Link to comment

Brad Bradley 0 Posted February 2, 2003 This photo is taken on my way out of Deep Cut Park after an ice storm. I had taken a roll of chromes of other trees in the park and found these maples still clad in ice but starting to drip from the warming sun. Positioning the camera about 12" off the ground and just under the trees lowest branches and opposite the sun angle I was able to silhouette the trunk of the tree against the rising sun. I think it was shot at F16, 60th of a second, using Ilford XPSuper 400 . I have other renditions of the shot where Dugals scanned the negative and then printed at 14" X 14" that are really effective. The sun refracts through the small water droplets causing reflective stars to show. I would like to hear any ideas on how to improve this shot conventionally or in photoshop. Thanks, Brad Link to comment
mg 0 Posted March 17, 2003 This is really beautiful, Brad. My only suggestion would be to burn the floor slightly to prevent the eye from going into this bright "hole", and keep our attention focussed on these amazing branches. Best regards. Link to comment
