d_gillespie 0 Posted November 10, 2006 You have really caused a lot of trouble for all of us amateur picture takers. The iconic shot of a zebra is required for every nature photographer who wants to be taken seriously. It used to be as simple as heading to the local zoo and raising our camera up to snap a couple of frames of the local beasts. We print them on nice paper hang them on the wall and everybody thinks we are pros. Now what are we supposed to do? Great shot, really makes us all work that much harder. Link to comment
villalobosleo 5 Posted November 26, 2006 Excelente toma, interesante, con gran habilidad en el manejo de la luz y los tonos, saludos ! Link to comment
pmj 6 Posted December 4, 2006 This image has been selected for discussion. It is not necessarily the "best" picture the Elves have seen this week, nor is it a contest. It is simply an image that the Elves found interesting and worthy of discussion. Discussion of photo.net policy, including the choice of Photograph of the Week should not take place here, but in the Site Feedback forum. Before writing a contribution to this thread, please consider our reason for having this forum. We have this forum because future visitors might be interested in learning more about the pictures. They browsed the gallery, found a few striking images and want to know things like why is it a good picture, why does it work? Or, indeed, why doesn't it work, or how could it be improved? So, when contributing to this thread, please keep the above in mind. Address the strengths, the shortcomings of the image. It's not good enough to like it, you should spend some time trying to put into words why that is the case. Equally so if you don't like it, or if you can't quite make up your mind.Let's make sure this forum is a wonderful learning resource for future photographers!Thank you and enjoy! Link to comment
mike_ferron 0 Posted December 4, 2006 I think these creatures were created just for B&W photographers. The superb glow from the background makes this an outstanding photograph. Link to comment

atlatling 4 Posted December 4, 2006 An absolutely wonderful photograph. Not too overdone, requires no cropping that I can see. The color shade is absolutely marvelous as well. It sure reminds me of one or two of Bev Doolittle's paintings. I would be proud to have this on my wall. Willie the Cropper Link to comment
atlatling 4 Posted December 4, 2006 I've gone back and studied the photograph more and I find that there more than one picture depicted here. For instance, a crop which includes both animals heads and just a smidgeon more above, below and on either side of the noses really makes a fine study. Secondly, I am bothered by the tail of the smaller of the two zebras hanging down where it does. If this were my photograph, I would photoshop that offensive element away. I still am thrilled at being given the chance to observe and discuss this wonderful shot. Nice work. And, congratulations for being chosen this week. Willie the Cropper Link to comment
