Any comment/suggestions would be grateful regarding how to retain as

much detail as possible outside of window. I feel this shot could

have been improved with more visible background foliage through the

window. Sun was approx 90 degrees to the left but quite hign -

approx 1300 hrs.

In this wonderful age of digital it is easy. Take two photographs and use photoshop. The two photographs suggestion could also be done with good old film but the printing process is a lot more involved.

Use a polarizer to remove the specular part of the reflections, making the foliage and sky darker.

Low Contrast C-41 film should do the trick. I'd go with Reala. Or Ilford Delta 100 and a yellow filter if you want black and white (the yellow filter would make the walls & foliage darker, floor, chair, and sky lighter).

Certainly some food for thought from your suggestions. Always willing & thankful to listen to suggestions and experience.

Thanks Maria for you kind words.

Steve, i like the composition and the subject. a good eye. Yes , the exposure is the tricky part here, but as mentioned in the comments above, you should use a polariser. It will enable you to shoot 1-2 stops more and increase the colour contrast. nice picture.
