jerry ting 1 Posted June 1, 2006 Aerial shot from commercial airline. Comments welcome. Thanks. Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted June 1, 2006 I've flown over these a thousand times and always wanted to get a picture of them. Very well done. A tighter crop would also make a great abstract. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted June 1, 2006 This is a stunning shot. I immediately saw the same "abstract" potential here as Kent. I'm curious as to how much, if any, post-processing you did? (By the way, I don't put much stock in the anonymous ratings on PN, but the ratings here are especially ridiculous.) Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted June 1, 2006 Ken and Mark for stopping by and looking at this. Mark, especially thank you for the pair of 7's :) You might want to take a look at this one that I submitted late last night which is kind of an 'Abstract' version of the salt ponds: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4513151&size=lg Mark, I pretty much follow the steps below for most of my aerial shots: 1. Changed the white balance from auto to shade in Nikon Editor. 2. Sharpen the image to low/medium level in Nikon Editor depends on how clear the original shot is. 3. Auto Contrast without color changes in Nikon Editor. 4. Save the image in jpg format and tweak it (mostly level, saturation and noise) in PS and Neat Image. Hope this information helps. markboyer 0 Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks for the info. I've become rather addicted to Neat Image myself. Link to comment
