musashi 0 Posted May 29, 2006 Very amazing, zack. Could you give us , if possible, some complementary data about this photo? Was the moon "really" there? Was it, somehow, post produced? thanks a lot. Sergio Moreira Link to comment
alexgr 0 Posted May 29, 2006 A dream landscape, with an exquisite composition. It enchants that moon to me centered with nuves in diagonal. Congratulations Link to comment
jcmellen 0 Posted May 29, 2006 Beautiful shot. Great texture and detail. Exposure, contrast, and tones are perfect. I don't know if the moon is photoshopped in or not, I am curious if it was. If it was photoshopped in, it didn't need to be, as this would still be at least a 6 or probably even a 7 rated picture without the moon in my eyes. But if the moon truly is there...all the better!!! 7/7 from me...with, or without the moon. Very well done!!! Link to comment
zackschnepf 0 Posted May 29, 2006 This is a composite of two images. They were taken a minute apart or so, I came here to photograph the moonset as it was coinciding with sunrise, but the moon was not in a very good position to incorporate it in a shot. So, I strapped on the telephoto and nabbed the moon by itself, then captured this scene with a wide angle. Link to comment
miles_hecker 0 Posted May 29, 2006 This image has a very pleasant quality to it, but IMO has two areas for improvement. The light on the moon is coming from the left, the light on the rocks is coming from the right. When you composited it you should have taken that into account. Also IMO the moon would be more realistic at about 2/3 its present size. Overall though, a good concept with good light that could benifit from a more refined execution. Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted May 29, 2006 Yes, it's a beautiful shot, but would profit greatly from a more realistic (smaller) moon... Then it'd be perfect... Jiri Link to comment
zackschnepf 0 Posted May 29, 2006 I have a version with a moon half this size, it works pretty well too i think. Link to comment

christsloan 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Zack, this is just an awesome photograph. I agree with all of the above comments. I don't know of anything else I can say. What city in Oregon were you in? Is this Cannon Beach? I live in Oregon and can't figure out where this might be. Congrats!!! Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted June 1, 2006 Fantastic shot but the moon is way too big IMO. This must be the best shot I have seen with three 3/3 ratings. Link to comment
