stuart_richardson 2 Posted May 19, 2006 I am curious as to whether people think this is a successful photo, and what could be improved. It is one of my recent favorites. It was taken on Tri-x, developed in Rodinal and shot with a 35mm f/1.4 lens. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Hello Stuart, fantastic grab photo showing great character, composition, and tone. There is a story behind that scene and it speaks well. The moments that pass between trains were caught. I'd like to see more shadow detail. Cheers. Link to comment
daniel_balfour3 0 Posted January 29, 2012 Wonderfully executed! The images is compelling, geometrically inviting and has a beautifully broad range of tones. I'm actually surprised how fine the grain looks with your choice of film/developer. My only suggestion is that you crop off a third of an inch on the left. I find the column fragment slightly detracting. Nice job. Link to comment
colin_dullaghan 0 Posted February 3, 2013 The geometry of this is my initial attraction, but it's the story that really engages. The presence of two people, neither of whom seem at all interested in what we, the viewers are seeing, nor in interacting with each other, really captures the transitory feeling of these kinds of places. I can see why you like it.Also nice, and kind of surprising, to see a 1.4 lens used for such dramatic depth of field. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
