deleted 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I know I speak for many on this site. We all would love it if you would put some data about the shot and or a quick explanation of what you did in PS. Great Color and detail, High Dynamic range, I would suggest a warming filter on the mountains and foreground to get realistic colors to that amazing sky. Great work though Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted May 9, 2006 ....nice and spectacular...obviously the sky was added in PS since its lightning does not match with the one of the mountain...but nervertheless it is a nice picture...I have a preference for originals... Link to comment
garymeyer 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I'm sorry but I must disagree with the last comment. While the colors are great the shawdows and sky are just too out of synch for this to work for me. It just doesn't come across as real. Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Very dramatic shot, but I have to agree with the previous comments about the sky. Link to comment
panayotis_papadopoulos 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Dear Nile, This is a very nice mountain and a beautiful sky but those two joined together, in my opinion, they don't much. It's like two different photos! Take care! Link to comment
arnabbanerjee 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I am sorry to say this - but this is an example of very bad PS work. The disparity of light condition in the scene and sky kills the picture completely - digital alteration can be deadly unless you use it properly. That's my honest opinion - sorry Link to comment
nilesullivan 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Thanks for everyone's comments. Yes, the sky is added and the light does not match...at all. I liked the colors so much that I went for it anyway. Lesson learned. The waterfall was also added. Link to comment
julio_segura_carmona1 4 Posted May 9, 2006 Magica luz, bello encuadre, perfecta composicion, un cordial saludo Nile. Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted May 9, 2006 ... but too obvious that the sky is pasted in. The backlit sunset sky could not produce the shadows on the rocks coming from high in the sky to the left. At least not on this planet... :-) And that waterfall... in the desert? With no inlet or outlet stream? Maybe it IS a different planet! :-) Link to comment
brian_goodman 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Nothing wrong about getting creative with our photography :) I bet you had alot of fun working this shot in PS. Tripping the shutter is only half the fun to me. The second half comes from putting everything together and getting a little bit creative. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted May 10, 2006 I will second Arnab's opinion. This is way out of synch, and it would be evident from clear across the room. It's fun to experiment and to test proficiency using PS techniques, but in the end, skill is far more than just the ability to use tools. Link to comment
aviro 0 Posted May 10, 2006 is that the sunlights are coming from the back of the mountain, still the shadows are on the right side. :) PS works also should have some logic. Link to comment
zhimmelm 0 Posted May 10, 2006 I disagree with Brian. I think that there is something terribly wrong with manipulating photography. To me, it is like lying. Link to comment
beechcomber 0 Posted May 10, 2006 im looking at it from a more surrealistic point of view...of course the elements dont match up but when i stand back and look at it estheticaly the overall works for me. just my 5cents worth. cheers Link to comment
mumtazguran 0 Posted May 10, 2006 very good and soft colours..i like it..very good..congratulations..byee Link to comment
Fishermang 0 Posted May 10, 2006 You should have posted all the PS details in your original comment, not everyone reads through the comments below :P Would be absolutely fantastic if it was all natural of course :) Link to comment
monicariveiro 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Impresive landscape excellently composed. Light is gorgeous. Link to comment
realkuhl 0 Posted May 10, 2006 This is a Digital Alteration, not a Landscape shot. You should have said so in the first place and put it in the proper category. Link to comment
muenchphoto 0 Posted May 11, 2006 I think photoshop should be used carefully and as perfect as possible. Sorry but this picture (and not shot) is clearly, and very easily to see, a fake. Jep the sky looks good but doesn't fit at all to the foreground. Sorry this is a bummer.. Link to comment
