aepelbacher 0 Posted May 9, 2006 I'm no expert on floral shots ... but this is one of those that makes me start to sense the smell of the rose even though it's merely on my computer screen. :-) Very PINK!!! :-D Link to comment

michaelhills 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Julius, this image is sublime... but, I'm not sure about your border treatment though - I think it is plenty pink enough already! ;) By the way, what focal length did you employ? At the wide or telephoto end? Compositionally, do you think it would be more effective to have brought the centre of the rose just a little closer (larger) to the viewer? In that way you could also reduce the slightly distracting (to me) region at top left of frame... what do you think? M :) Link to comment
Jebamony 3 Posted May 11, 2006 Michael, this was shot @ 1/160 Sec, F/5.0, 105 mm, daylight. As a matter of fact I too was not sure about the pink border. I guess was just testing the water. Anyways take a peek at the attached. Is that what you meant [as far as the composition]? Link to comment
michaelhills 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Thanks for the info, Julius. Hmmm... looking at the alternative crop, I feel that it is too centred now! Plus, that lovely pink texture to the outer petals is lost... ok, I'll eat my words.... leave the crop as it is... M ;) Link to comment
jlcphoto 0 Posted June 2, 2006 Now, this one is fantastic. Very unique for a rose and your lighting is fantastic! Outstanding job. Link to comment
