She never saw me. I think the B&W lacks some punch, tried a few

things to no avail. I'll work at it again, if only to get rid of the

hard light on her neck. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Great look in her eyes. I agree about light on neck. Perhaps more blur in backgroud, its a bit noisy and would have emphasized her great look. Her left side looks great.

Very well done. The composition is good, the look in her eyes is excellent, and the harsh backlighting is handled very well -- the left side of her face looks perfect, as does her hair. Perhaps the spot on her neck could be toned down a bit, as you say, but it's a minor problem, because the eye naturally goes to her face anyway. The degree of bg blur is just about right, to my eye.

 

More important, this one really captures the atmosphere of the coffee shop. (The sugar container is a wonderful detail.) Bravo!

Very nice light, well focused. I kind of like the highlights, they help create the atmosphere.

You're right Chai, there's something classic about it, maybe more in her allure than in my photo? :)

 

Thanks Chris, I agree the bright spot on the neck is not a catastrophe, but I can't help noticing it each time I look at the picture. I like the sugar container too, and I hesitated before cropping the newspaper.

 

Claude, I try to see the highlights your way... I guess it's more difficult since I've seen the color original, and thus how those are emphasized by the b&w conversion... Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

I wouldn't touch a thing. I think that Claude and Chris have already said it. I beleive that the B & W truly enhances thsi image and gives the subject the softness that makes it so attractive. The backlight on her neck is so minor that it is not worth impairing the image.Great shot.

Thanks for your kind comment Marco; I was annoyed by the highlight when I processed this shot, but I grew accustomed to the look of the picture and now I guess I'm ok with it too. ;-). Ciao!
