kentb2 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Rui this is beautiful. I'll bet it's even better larger. The blacks and mid tones are excellent. Nice angle on the stepping stones leading into a nicely composed image. Link to comment
my 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Beautiful shot, great composition. My only suggestion would be to maybe crop some of the foreground to bring the church a little bit closer and have more detail, although I see the name of the shot is churchyard ;-)Cheers Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 29, 2006 Very impressive -- great composition and tones. The paving stones, the church, the cloud at top right are all placed just right. You might try brightening the deep shadows a bit. I like how this one conveys an "ancient," long-ago feeling. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 1, 2006 Hi Rui, only today did I notice your comments from about two weeks ago, under Biplab's "Splash," about high-contrast photos. I quite agree, and let me introduce a friend who does that kind of photo very well: Lee Park. There's a lot of inspiring stuff in her portfolio, such as this recent one or this one, which in my opinion is one of the best photos I've ever seen. We can all learn something from her. (Notice, though, that the area that is totally black is fairly limited... ;-) .) I'm deeply moved that levels and curves remind you of me! LOL! Hey, now that I think about it, my bio photo is a high-contrast shot, too. ;-) Anyway, on revisiting this one, I take back my comment above about maybe possibly lightening the shadows. Your B&W here is wonderful just as it is. This is a very strong shot, really beautiful. Link to comment
