gungajim 75 Posted April 24, 2006 John, Very soothing image. However, if your 4/19 Exposure Date is correct, I'm curious how you are getting this kind of leaf color in the early spring. I'm presuming you entered the date you posted it. Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted April 25, 2006 I was equally surprised by the colour. The evergreens are still a dull green from the winter so the warm early light makes them glow with a light green colour. The birch trees fine upper branches are a dull brown colour that again are exagerated by the early warm light. Added saturation in PS does bring them out more but they are in the original image as well. In my folder is a photo of the same subject taken later in the day and you can see the difference. I have yet another shot taken right at sunset which puts another twist on the scene. I will add it to my folder shortly. Thank-you for your comments. I was shocked to see the entire bay as a sheet of glass. The bay remained like this for two days! Naturally I took lots of pictures, some great, some not so inspiring. I did have to get up at 6:00 AM two days in a row to get these though! The ice thawed 2 days before these various shots. I have rarely seen the water here so calm. Link to comment
