yann1 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Ghost house in the city of Lu-Kang (Tainan). Please comments Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Wow, looks like an absolutely fantastic place to photograph and explore. There is definately a lot to photograph here, and I think if you selected a few elements and focused on them you could create a stronger image, especially in black and white. The large flare at the top isn't helping either. Link to comment
yann1 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Thanks for your advice Aaron, and seeing your portfolio I see immediately what you mean. about the flare, it gaves me the idea of calling it a ghost house, I could have easily correct it in the darkroom, but didn't... This is the scan of a photo, the negative is lost. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Yeah, it definately has an old world spookyness about it. I see some light filtering through the doors - maybe you could play around with it to make it seem like the house is glowing from within, who knows? There are just so many interesting things here that I really want to see, e.g., the doors and archway, the lanterns over on the tree, the cracked brickwork on the other side... When was this taken? yann1 0 Posted April 18, 2006 It was taken about six years ago, I don't think this house is still standing. I wanted to go back there for a few shots last year, and didn't find it, but someone told me he saw it no long ago... It's maybe a real ghost house after all... Link to comment
scott_cogburn1 0 Posted September 5, 2007 I love the photo. I would like to see that house one day. So it's in LuGang, in ChangHua County? I hope it is still there. I haven't been to LuGang yet, but I heard that it is one of those places where locals are beginning to understand that old structures are not just old, but also historical. Speaking of spooky old houses in Taiwan, have you seen this one in NeiHu, in northeast of Taipei? --scott Link to comment
