rjsc 0 Posted April 6, 2006 This is just tryout on a different approach to the b&w conversion. The 2 previous ones ( href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4273223" >this one and href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4273216" >this one) are the reference for the first method. If in the mood please let me know what you think. Thank you in advance for your time. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Love the "feel" of this shot. I grew up on the coast and this REALLY speaks to me of the cold and lonely winters at the beach, gazing off into the horizon. Very nice tones, great DOF and sharpness. The horizon seems fine, but I get a little thrown off by the angle of the walkway. Might've come out too "conventional", but I might've liked to see a little less tilt to the walkway (not even sure how without tilting the horizon though... oh well). Great shot! Link to comment
always_wanderlust 0 Posted April 7, 2006 I like the solitary nature of this shot. Well done. Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted April 7, 2006 All of them look really great in B&W, but this one looks the best. I think the angle being at (standing/walking) eye level causes one to really feel drawn in by the sea...Mui bien, mi amigo (pardon my Spanish! My Portuguese is just about non-existent too :)Mark Link to comment
mariojanuario 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Embora tenha gostado das outras duas, atrevo-me a dizer que prefiro esta. Bom trabalho Rui. Um abrac'o ! Although I liked the previous two as mentioned, I dare to say I prefer this one. Best regards ! Link to comment
emjordan 0 Posted April 8, 2006 I too like all the versions but this one seems to stand out and really it combines all the elements of the two previous shots. elisabeth Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted April 10, 2006 Hi Rui, What do you yourself think about the three B&Ws? To me, this one is the best. It's a bit more contrasty and has a wider range of tones. The dark grasses against the light sand and the white foam against the dark sea have much more visual appeal, I think. I'd say you made a lot of progress, maybe even a bit of a technical breakthrough, just in experimenting on this one series. I like the composition in this one -- I like the perspective, the view down to the beach. If you redid the horizontal one so that the B&W was like this one, though, then it'd be hard to choose a favorite between them. Link to comment
