That is the most beautiful blue!!!!!

And the richest reds.

There is a photo almost every month as an advertisement in OP

of these falls.

It is how I ever heard of them.

You have taken a great photo Jay.

I'm not real big on the technical parts of a photo other than the personal challenge to master my own.

For me, photography is about loving where I am, recording it, and living in my dreams.

I even have my children these days pointing at photos asking where it is and when can they go.

You can't not look at this photo and wonder how there can be such incredible beauty on the earth to see.

You know this ones big on my list.

I'm glad your trip went well. I'm sure it was worth this one photo alone.

PS...My FAVORITE magazine for photos is Arizona Highways.

The hike to Havasu falls is 10 miles each way (to campground) with approximately 2000 feet elevation change. You loose altitude on the way in and gain it on the way out. We backpacked..my backpack was about 40-45 lbs. It took me 3.2 hours to get to campground and 4.2 hours to get back (uphill) including breaks along the way. It was snowing/hailing when we left the car and rained on and off all weekend long. The morning when I took the photos, the mountains surrounding the canyons were covered with snow. The average temprature in day time was in 50s and night time in 30s. I fell in the river couple of times while crossing it and got cold and wet (and there were no fire allowed). And given another chance...I would do this over again in even worse conditions. :-)))

And while you were hiking to the Falls, Yosemite was blasted with so much snow that there was barely a trail to hike. It was a 'from the window' viewing weekend for me!

Indeed a dreamy place, Jay. I think that in spite of the cold, falling in this kind of water is, well, sort of bathing in bliss. Wonderful in all aspects; a photo that does stir emotions.

Wonderful image, Jay. What's captured here is the rough symmetry of nature (aided by a skillful photographer) with inverse patterns of jagged edges repeated in the cliffs, the water's strike point and the alkaline-etched shore. My only compliant is that we can see only the JPEG quality of this fine print.

Almost supernatural colors, very artful composition. The long exposure makes the water look magic, the soft blue against the red solid stone around is intriguing. Excellent work

Definitely the loveliest photo I've ever seen of Havasu! I'd love to see it, but your hike doesn't sound very enjoyable...you really have to love the country!

So beautiful, the contrast between rocks and water, the cold and warm colors, the motion and steadiness. And very well composed, although I'd definitely like to see more of such a wonderful place... :-)
