mmmee 0 Posted March 28, 2006 I have flipped through your first few critique requests and found this one most interesting. I like the composition. I think you could crop off the bit at the top and the left side, to end up with a more geometrical pattern. I wonder what camera you use, what film, and if you are scanning these in from a print? I think scans from prints always need a bit of unsharpen mask applied to them to get rid of the softness. I need to try more of these time exposures. They can be very interesting. Link to comment
trw 0 Posted March 28, 2006 This image was on Sensia 100, Canon AE-1P, nFD 50mm f1.4. The slide was scanned in a batch on a Konica-Minolta Scan-Dual IV. I didn't sharpen after resizing. I think there may have been a little condensation on the lens and/or a slight breeze. I like the effect, at any rate. The other images in that folder are all with the same camera, mostly with the same lens, and variously on Sensia 100, Provia, Reala, Portra 400NC, and some of the paintball ones are on Sensia 400 (Edit: oops... I didn't upload the paintball ones.). Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks for the information. I have the same lens for my Canon EOS Elan 7e. I must find the time to play like this, with it. Looking through your folder has given me some ideas to run with. You used Provia I think you said on some of them. Hmmmmm.. I have some velvia waiting for just the right occasion. More ideas, thanks. trw 0 Posted March 29, 2006 From what I've read, don't use velvia for long exposures. The essential difference between Provia and Sensia is that Provia is more contrasty and Saturated. This is probably not a good thing for this type of shots. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted March 29, 2006 oh, okay. Then back to my old Kodak since I am just at the experimental stage. I suppose Photoshop could be used to saturate to achieve a Provia like color, then. Link to comment
