graskett 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Jim, Nice shot but what immediately catches my eye is the truck. The shot without the distraction of the truck would be much better. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Hi Jim; I must admit that this shot evokes some real memories for me. I grew up around places like this and I can just about feel the early spring air. I like the truck's placement but think that the whole of the image has too much going on with little to guide the viewer's eye to any compelling visual points of interest. You might try a tighter crop (as attached or somehere in that vicinity) as well as a little darkening to intensify the colors. Link to comment
waveguide 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Thank you both for commenting. Gary, all I can say is, "Not my farm, not my truck". That truck has been parked there every time I have passed by. If I ever see the truck not there, I'll try the shot again. Also, I plan to go back and shoot again when spring has added some vibrant green to the scene. Patricia, I like your cropping, but the darkening seemed a little extreme. As for the crop- In my picture, the roadway starts at the bottom and wanters up and to the left, then back to the right and to the truck. It seems to me that this is the path that the eye will follow when you first look at the picture. Also I want to include the treetops and barn. I looked at both of your pictures and have marked both of you as "interesting" based upon what I saw. I like to look at the way other people compose and crop their pictures as a learning experience. Again, thanks!! Link to comment
