jim_g.1 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Great shot with the exception of the blown out background (upper right) is a distraction that makes it look as though something is melting and running down the frame. Maybe a different perspective would have helped. I like the way you caught the water drops and the other flowers on the right edge of the frame. Link to comment
islandamanda 0 Posted March 21, 2006 TY, very much for leaving your comment. I hadn't even noticed the spot, until you pointed it out, But now that I have, I have no idea what to do. I took this photo at the Montreal Botanical Gardens, so this "spot" we are seeing is actually sunlight coming through. This photo is cropped from a larger one I took. So, I have tried to re-crop it but Im not sure that I like the photo as much overall. I will attach the original, If you/anyone has any suggestions as to what I could do, it would be greatly appreciated. TY!! Link to comment
jim_g.1 0 Posted March 21, 2006 Amanda, My solution to the "Sunshine" in the background would be to simply clone it out in a digital darkroom, fixing the existing image. The best solution would to re-shoot the image. Ensuring that distractions like that are not in the frame. That can be one of the hardest things to do, as we tend to focus on the subject only. With some time and practice you will begin to look and study the entire frame for such distractions. Sometimes there just isn't any way to frame something without stuff in the frame we don't want. In those cases a digital darkroom comes in very handy. Link to comment
