Mooooo! (cropped version)

Sophia, I really like this version. Cropped this way, it's got a ton of impact. The composition is really strong: three horizontal bands, the top and bottom in primary colors, and an interesting, humorous repeated pattern in the middle band. And some of the small details here are terrific -- each gap between the front cows gives a good view of a cow behind them, and then there's that one odd-colored cow peeking out at right, with colorful flowers under him. This could be a poster. Submit it for ratings and see if it doesn't grab attention.

Thank you, Chris. I think I will submit it for ratings and see. I wish I had taken a few more shots of these cows because a few more cows came up to the front later (the ones that you see way in the distance) and they were stepping on each other and pushing each other to get in the front row to moo at me. I don't know what they were really thinking, maybe I just looked funny to them. I don't think they've ever seen an Asian girl! ;)

Anyway, I don't really understand why I only took this one shot! I obviously was enjoying the vacation too much, my mind went on vacation as well! ;)

I was lost driving on this tiny narrow dirt roads in one of the most northern islands of

Scotland, Orkney Islands, last summer. I finally stopped the car to look at the map, and

possibly find someone to ask - well, all I got was this bunch coming up to me saying

"Mooooo!" I don't think they understood the question, or maybe I just had a hard time

understanding the Scottish accent!

Sophia this one is good, refreshing and funny. These tagged ears! I like the effect brought by the barbed wire and the way it is aligned with the top of their heads - strong diagonal. The colors are great. They sure are looking at you! Were you wearing red or something? ;-)

Came here via the "moo" thread! I love how the cow with the white face stands out so from the pack - looks like you captured the king (queen, I guess) with loyal subjects behind.

I love scotland! Was there in '04 and wished I had the experience and camera I do now. lol. I do like the pano the best, even though I do miss some of the clouds a bit. Great shot!
