thank you Yann! your version is a good proposal, but I think I will stay at mine (you now, I like darkness in pictures).

I like this! A fine graphic image. I suggest cropping a tiny bit more off the top, and yes, it should be brightened so that the snow is really white. I wish my kitchen view were so intriguing.

(for a minute i was tempted to say you like the darkness because you have a black soul:).) but that's just between you and me, mind the brackets.

it is not only this that I view out of my window... I cropped the nicest part of the view for today.

the nonexisting brightness: maybe it is (finally!) my new monitor? :-S I like muted colors

I am trying to remember the name of that famous graphic artist who makes drawings starting with one theme and finishing with another (e.g. birds<->fish). This photo reminds me his concept of an absurd, though topologically explicable, staircase along roofs where people go upwards and then downwards without ever changing direction or inclination.

and yes, it has that quality to it! Hanna, it IS a great shot - you have a wonderful eye to catch such potential right under your nose. You might visit Lionel Dupre's presentation on Out My Window - he's asking for other's to post their window views there, and this one is perfect!

As to the tones, I'm afraid I must agree with those who think a white improves the scene...but some days, we just think Dark. Cheers - Lee

daily: let's roof! :-)

manolis: now, that I look at my photograph again...

thanks for the comments and the encouragement to you all!

24 hours later it wasn't a roof like this anymore...

Hanna, where were you when you shot this? Love the geometry the snow and roof form....it came down heavy, later ( saw the new uploads.)

in my kitchen, trying to wake up. the last two days we had a heavy snowfall, unbelievable for the town where I live. but it is very nice (not as dangerous as in other regions of germany). and 'cause I have a cold, I stayed in my apartment, trying to capture the nice snow anyhow - through the windows.

Hi Hanna - it's my fault for speaking with a Texas accent (-;

Nuff = Enough ...... so it was the slang version of 'Enough said ?' - asking if I made my approval of your image clear ... similar to the expression 'Need I say more ?' ..... Geez I'm confused now. Let me start over. (-;

I like the image alot Hanna - Enough said ?

More brightness? more white??

no Hanna no!!! resist!!! keep your love with darkness... for me your version is much more evocative because of that blurred brown air...

Great composition!

congratulations.
