Sunny late afternoon shoot

This one works, too! Her arm and pants, in the shadow areas, on my monitor anyway, do look a little flat, though - is there a way to selectively aply a litle more contrast in those areas?

 

Great job posing her - that's my bump in the road, now - figuring out what position to put people in.

Hi Chris. I tried to burn in some more contrast there last night before I posted today because I saw what you see. I'll give it another shot tonight. Think I was just tired ;)

Hello Mark - I cannot make up my mind as to whether or not the mottled light works here - on balance, I feel as though it does not. - I do however love her expression!

Hi Jim, Hi Nick. Thank you both for your comments. I appreciate it a lot. I like the mottled effect, but didn't like that the shadows on her right arm were so strong! Guess that's why outdoors photos get tricky, because nature is unpredictable!

Style and elegance! The shade is a good idea for reducing the contrast between light and shadow. I think the mottled idea is a good one but with a different pose. She is in a fairly classic pose where I would expect classic lighting to bring out the form. But it is good to go against expectations sometimes!

Well done, Mark! All the information we need is there. Check the 'funny' shade in her folded arm though - looks like you were not too careful with the Healing Brush...
