How do you catch them without having them appearing posed and bored"

she's a really cute girl, but the skin color looks a bit "off" - did you scan this in from film? There is a lot of grain at her cheek/neck boundary. The flash also gave a somwhat harsh, small catch-light in the eyes.

Thanks for the comments Jennifer. This really is Ashley's skin color. I am amazed at how accurately it is reproduced here. This was shot with Maxxum 7 or 7D. I don't have the specific information as I was using both cameras that morning when I shot the images. If it is film, it is Provia; otherwise Fine JPEG; AWB; Flash.
