great still life. love all the textures, the new and the old and your use of light.

 

but a little bit unbalanced with so little at the top, i'd crop it down by taking off a third of the space measured from the top of the boot up, then you eye could not escape from the top any longer. Just scroll down a little to crop it with your monitor, and you will see what I mean.

I don't know anything about balance in still life, but I really like this photograph. Brings back happy memories of relatives who lived close to the land.
