Great exposure - how did you illuminate his face?

Nice picture ,IMO the light on the face reflects off the wall.Just a guess.

Great shot and nice portfolio Sam. If you actually do want critiques, I would suggest replying to comments, so people know that you're interested and listening - it's a two-way process and I'm sure people would appreciate being given the opportunity to learn from your responses as well.

Hey there everyone, thatnks for your critiques....as for the lighting on the face which many of you have asked about...the image was naturally a little flat on contrast and i didn't expose so much for the highlights as it appears now. So basically it was just a little up on the contrast and then i dodged out the face to it's origional brightness. Thanks, again for all the comments.

As you say maybe best viewed larger, but it's not the size or the detail that grabs me, it the beautiful exposure control in a difficult situation that grabed me.

The lovely asymmetry in the y-axis but the symmetry in the X-axis is wonderful.

I find silhouette and detail in the same shot and what needs to be shown is available to the eye and everything that is not is left to the imagination.

Superb, I love it.
