cisko 0 Posted January 20, 2002 I've just submitted a print of this photo for our local art center's annual (juried) student show. I'd love feedback in general but also to compare with what I hear from the jury. Many thanks! Link to comment
bert_nelson1 0 Posted January 20, 2002 Very nicely done. It is not the most original location, but the clouds really make the picture. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted January 20, 2002 Very good job all the way. Tones, and composition are good. maybe a little dark??? Good photo. I like it. Link to comment
anders_nilsson2 0 Posted January 20, 2002 I like the drama-aspect of it. What I do believe is that you should have put more contrast into your picture to emphasize the dramatic feeling. The way it is now is a bit too overall medium-gray... Link to comment
larry_mobbs 11 Posted January 20, 2002 This picture truly captures the forboding mood of the storm. It is beautifully composed. I might suggest to try another approach, though. The picture features a wealth of gray tones but the tones are not emphasized as much as the contrast. Might be interesting to lessen the contrast, brighten the image and soften the very sharp edges through the middle of the picture. This picture is great material. Don't be shy about looking at it in a variety of ways. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 21, 2002 This is my favourite from your folder, though a couple of others come very close. I really like the weight of the approaching storm. Link to comment
barry_jones 0 Posted January 22, 2002 if the intent is to emphasize the threatening or foreboding nature of the approaching storm, you need to make it pre-eminent in your composition- i think this photo would have benefitted from some serious cropping, honing the image down to mountains low in the frame and the massive storm front filling most of the frame Link to comment
