Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted January 30, 2006 He may look like a skier but Scott is riding a split-board which he uses to walk up the hill with climbing skins on, then he keeps his poles in his hands to help him get up when he falls in the deep snow. I set my Canon S80 to rapid fire mode and shot a series. I opened the first one in Photoshop then chose 6 more (skipping many that overlapped his position) to copy and paste him into the first.
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 1, 2006 The idea is good, and I like the sense of motion which is given by Scott himself -of course- but also by the other traces in the snow. The almost-monochromatic background opposed to his red attire, make the shot even more dynamic. Nitpiking #1... to the right there are few needles coming out of the frame, I'd cut a few pixel tighter Nitpiking #2... any additional frame where he passed between the trees we see to his right toward the end of the sequence? It would get lots of rythm if we "saw" him passing behind a tree...
Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted February 4, 2006 Thanks again for your views. I agree with both of your "nitpicks" - I should have done the first, but I'm afraid I don't have the shot to do the second. I also wish the snow was smooth other than his track, but others had cut it up the day before.
