Castle point Lighthouse.

ian cameron

Castle point Lighthouse stands a proud white sentinel on the extreme southern tip of North Island New Zealand. it is quite an elegant model and at sunrise looks wonderful as the first flickering rays of sunlight wash across the dunes. I used the wooden decking as a meandering lead in line to the lighthouse. Please take a look at some new images recently uploaded to Transient Light and Timecatcher.

An elegant white sentinel guarding Castle Point rock at the extreme

southern tip of North Island New Zealand. A wash of soft colour

bathes it at sunrise.

Beautifully done Ian. Good shot. Offseting the lighthouse to the left gives one an idea of the rocks it is built on top of. Very nice.

I love the tonality of this image. Great colors and composition. I also like the pathway. One other possibility would have been to capture this image with an Ultra-wide angle lens with a close-up shot of the walkway in the lower right corner from a low position, which would still give a nice shot of the light tower, but with a little drama. In any case, I really enjoy this picture. Thanks for sharing.
