sherwinjames 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Another good one, Jerry. You know, cropping out the last bird on the right would have made this shot even better (IMHO). Link to comment
courtney_atkins 0 Posted January 6, 2006 i love how there are three birds at the same level and the fourth bird on the right adds a bit of a contrast Link to comment
mihut_ionescu 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Great shot! Amazing how shallow the DOF is on that 500mm f4, only the middle bird out of the three in front is sharp ... Link to comment

yexie 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Jerry, I love this one as it is and would not dare to crop out the right bird that adds to balance the composition. Congratulations! Eugene Link to comment
Jerry Beecham 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Very Nice! I really like the bird on the far right. While he is out of focus, his reflection is not. It adds interest to the photo. Link to comment
bryan olesen 0 Posted January 6, 2006 JT, you're killin' me with these shorebirds...IMO, cropping out the fourth bird makes it too symmetrical. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted January 6, 2006 I really didn't expect to get such attention on this one. Really appreciate all of you taking time to give suggestions and comments on it. Some people mentioned the fourth stilt on the top right corner that makes this shot more interesting but also some think it should be cropped off to make the whole image more symmetrical. I think both statements are valid and it all depends on the personal preference. I personally like it there because a couple of reasons and the main one is to keep the whole image not too flat/symmetrical as Bryan mentioned. Thanks again for all your input. Link to comment

seven 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Excellent shot, Jerry. Simplicity & elegance from Nature. To my eye the fourth bird must stay : he represents the loner, the individual, the free spirit standing away from the flock. He is the Steppenwolf or Jonathan Livingston Seagull of the stilt world. Are the whites quite right? Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Nice one Jerry, you managed to get them in a straight line. Link to comment
