ray_joyce 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Any thoughts on how I could improve, what works and what doesn't about this phot would be great. Thanks Link to comment
masede 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Simply amazing, I can't stop staring at it, so 3D and sharp. Excellent exposure. Well done! Link to comment
tibor 0 Posted January 5, 2006 I like the feeling of depth in this picture, as already pointed out. It may have been nice to have the tree in the foreground placed a bit further from the left edge, but then I guess the viewer's attention would have shifted more on that than the awesome background. I would have definitely cropped out that "half" a tree on the right edge. Best regards, Tibor. Link to comment
Jerry Beecham 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Very nice. I do agree with some of the other comments and I would crop a little on the left. Link to comment
ray_joyce 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Thanks for all the comments, I agree with cropping the half tree on the right out....I almost with I would have actually captured the whole tree to try to frame the image. Link to comment
richbh 0 Posted January 7, 2006 First, I really like the picture - forests are always so random and beautiful, especially in the mist. Second, rather than crop on the *right*, crop on the *left* to focus more attenion on the busier part of the picture - the center and the right. Third, I'd darken the photo - there's too much bright! If you darken, you still retain the highlights and the darkness, but the effect is more romanticized. Fourth - and please do not be offended - I downloaded your photo and made the changes outlined above. Both versions are deleted from my computer. I'm attaching my crop & darkening of your photo so you can compare what you have with what I think would make it better. Please do let me know what you think. Link to comment
ray_joyce 0 Posted January 10, 2006 Thanks for the help. I do agree that I like the image a darkened, but I don't know how I feel about cropping the left edge that much. Doing so certainly does change the feel of the photograph and I do like how it focuses attention on center of the image. Link to comment
