pnital 36 Posted January 2, 2006 Nice winter composition again Jim, you have well caught the folds of earth going to the barn. You have a real collection already!...Pnina Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 2, 2006 You're spoiling us with all these views Jim, very very nice. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted January 2, 2006 Thank you very much, Pnina. This is very typical of the way the countryside looks in this part of Kentucky, just one hill after another. It is also an area I dearly love to be, as I have many relatives there.....Jim Link to comment

jim kerr 0 Posted January 3, 2006 Many thanks to you too, Ben. I was very lucky to get this sharp of a picture hand held as the light was fading fast and all I had with me was the 75-205 f3.8 zoom. As I recall my exposure was 1/60s @ f5.6 on Tri-X, I guess I was a bit more steady in those days.....Jim Link to comment

sondra kick 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Hi Jim, I love the way the road curves up around the barn. Beautiful image, nicely captured. I haven't seen a snowfall like that this winter. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted January 9, 2006 As I always do, Sondra, I certainly appreciate your visit and comments. A little side note: At the time I did this photograph, this barn was my uncle's, and a very special place indeed, to me.....Jim Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 17, 2006 I like the 'view along the road and through the trees' composition. It draws the viewer into the shot. Snow is always tricky for exposure and I would maybe try (try being the operative word here!) to raise the contrast in the foreground to get more of the tracks leading into the shot. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Janet, thanks for your comment, it means a great deal.....Jim Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Hello Colin, You are very right about the exposure. I would have loved to have been shooting with the sun shinning or at least an hour or more earlier as it was getting dark. Also wish that I 'd had the tripod along, been great to us f22 instead of f5.6 that I had to use hand held.....Very much appreciate your visit.....Jim Link to comment
