mcgarity 0 Posted December 31, 2005 If you hate sunrise photos all I can say is I am sorry but the devil made me do it. In any event thanks for looking and comments are welcomed. P.S. The only things I did in photoshop was run unsharp mask and clone over one very small spot caused by dust on my camera sensor. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted December 31, 2005 I love sunrise. The colors are very dramatic like it was on fire. The sihoulette lone tree & land is a good contrast & element in the composition. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 1, 2006 Wow, you outdid yourself again! This is definitely one for the wall! It's absolutely stunning, Larry. I wish I could come up with some more unique adjectives and comments, but I'm speechless. Wow! Link to comment

mcgarity 0 Posted January 2, 2006 Thank you Kim, Thank you Glenn. It really was one of the more spectacular sunrises I have seen lately. I have been thinking about shooting this and several other trees against the rising sun for several months. Just had to wait for the right sunrise. To be honest I didn't envision the color to be this bold. Not that I am complaining mind you. The thing that I am happiest about is the texture of the clouds. That smooth creamy look is one I have been trying to get without success for quite a while. I have been experimenting with stacking a neutral density and a polarizing filter to slow down exposure times to get movement in the clouds. Ironically enough I removed all filters from my lens on this shot to cut down on the possiblity of flare. Go figure. Anyway I digress. Thanks again. Larry Link to comment

susan stone 0 Posted January 4, 2006 It's the dawn of a new year and the setting of an old and I think these lovely images are a grand salute to that. "Eloquence personified." Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2006 great color, and I like the lone tree. Those cottonwoods are ugly as sin, but they make great silhouettes :) Very pretty! Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted January 16, 2006 Thank you Kathy. You have a point with regards to cottonwoods. They aren't the prettiest of trees. I rarely photograph them when they have leaves. But I find myself shooting them a lot in the winter. And I don't know if you ever noticed or not but I am a little bit addicted to silouhettes. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2006 I've noticed :) I don't do them as often as I see and admire others doing them! Might have to give it a shot tho... Link to comment
